In what could possibly be the most boring part of any personal blog, herein lies the details of the individual penning the stories of one woman’s journey through something we call life. But, life as we, the residents of the greater New Orleans area, know it, is a little less ordinary.
In a magical land, far, far away from what the majority of the general U.S. population would consider “normal”, lies a city inhabited by ghosts, fairies, pirates, vampires, and a handful of men that wear seersucker. While none of the aforementioned is my bag, especially the seersucker, a few decades in this town can do something to a person’s perspective. Here, at the aptly named LeslieAlmeida.com (that’s me, in case I’ve lost you), I will lend yet one more voice to the digital Milky Way to proclaim what is “good” or “fun”. I promise to not use “good” too often.

ETA: Quite a few things have changed since I wrote this bio back on 11/22/11. Please do read on past this edit, as the info may give you insight into the work I do, or can do for you, if that is why you are here. For my current work, please also visit PROPAGANDA New Orleans, of which I founded and am Editor-in-Chief, Forbes Travel Guide, where I am a Travel Guide Correspondent for New Orleans, and Food Network’s CityEats, where I have profiled a few of NOLA’s favorite restaurants. Alright. Back to the old bio.

You may have read my last New Orleans-based blog, NOLA Eats, before I imploded it — I never claimed to be a technical genius — but perhaps you missed it. That really is okay, as this is and is not NOLA Eats. Yes, I will be sharing my experiences at New Orleans restaurants, but there will be so much more. NOLA Eats has existed in one incarnation or another for eight years to the date, as of this writing on 11/22/11. And what date could be more perfect to reinvent it, once again?
Perhaps you read my not-particularly-New Orleans-based blog, UNMADE. If you are not of the female persuasion, it is likely that you missed that, as well. It is a place where I share lipstick blots, nail polish swipes and other beauty-related preoccupations. As of now, you can still read them at the link above, but they will most likely be moved here, as this is now home.
But, do not fret; If you’re not interested in makeup, navigate to “I Am Interested In…” at the sidebars of the pages and click the category you are, in fact, interested in. I’ve made it quite easy to navigate, as I will assume the majority of you are inebriated.
On a more personal, and seemingly endless note, not only do I enjoy a memorable dinner or a HG (that’s Holy Grail, for you non-beauty blog types) mascara, I am a published writer, digital content creator and television producer by profession, and a mother and wife by existence. More specifically, by the existence of my two children and one husband. You will most likely see them every so often, joined by our cats, Señorita Gatita and Señor Taco Muchacho.
If you would like to contact me for whatever reason may tickle your fancy, my email is Les (at) LeslieAlmeida (dot) com. Thank you for reading.
